Political Contribution Refund
Every year, Minnesota residents can get refunded up to $75 per person donated to political campaigns, including Esther’s. It’s a state program called the Political Contribution Refund, or the PCR. It was started in 1990 to encourage grassroots fundraising and public participation in political campaigns.
How it works:
- Donate up to $75 per person.
- You will receive a paper PCR receipt and a simple tax form by mail.
- Fill out the simple form and send it and the receipt to the state.
- You will receive the refund from the state.
This program allows refunds of up to $75 per person per year for contributions made to any entity using this program. This means, regardless of how much or how many groups you donate to, you will only receive up to $75 back from the state.
